St. George’s Works | The Shoe Quarter

Our Place Sustainable Developments

St George’s Works & St. Mary’s Works are two distinct projects that make up The Shoe Quarter in Norwich.
The Shoe Quarter is a subsidiary of Our Place Sustainable Developments.

Our Place puts people at the heart of design thinking and local communities at the heart of place making. Together we create beautiful mixed-use places that people love and where communities flourish. We respect tradition, local character and embrace the future to build inclusive and sustainable new places.

It is Our Place’s vision to return The Shoe Quarter to its former glory. An urban, mixed-use scheme that will see polished and sympathetic urban architecture, thriving public spaces, residencies for a mixed demographic, alongside work and retail spaces for both small enterprises and more established businesses.

Having undergone significant refurbishment, St George’s Works is currently operating as a thriving business hub offering flexible, affordable and inspiring workspaces to both young and established businesses.

Inspiring Creativity and Expanding Potential

Located north of Norwich city centre, at the heart of the creative quarter, St George’s Works is close to the universities and thriving Norwich Lanes district. Bustling alleyways and open communal spaces which several independent retailers, cafes and restaurants call home.

St George’s Works business hub has been fitted with the latest high-speed, super-fast fibre-optic broadband connection. This enables our thriving business community to operate at optimum levels. Print, copy, scanning machines are made available to tenants and co-workers. Every effort is made to operate as energy efficiently as possible, helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

Workplace Wellbeing & Corporate Sustainability

Taking Social Responsibility seriously and implementing strategies that focus on the ethical, social, environmental, cultural, and economic dimensions of doing business in Norwich.

Workplace wellbeing is important to us. Our buildings have been refurbished to include breakout space and informal collaboration areas. Where possible we have used glass partition walls to allow in natural light. We have installed tenant controlled heating and cooling systems. Bicycle racks and shower facilities have been provided, enabling tenants to freshen up before work after commuting by pedal power or on foot. Our manned reception desk operates during office hours to provide a constant and familiar point of contact for tenants and a professional meet and greet service for clients and visitors.
